bio

Jackson Greenberg had a deep love for music at a young age, when he learned to play cello and drums at age 6. In high school, Jackson Greenberg played Vibraphone, Piano, and Drums in many distinguished Philadelphia Jazz Ensembles including one under the direction of conductor Peter Nero.

In his senior year of high school Jackson discovered his passion for composition, and specifically film scoring. Jackson composed music for the High School's two plays, Dracula and The Tempest, won his schools Music award, and studied film scoring for his senior project under Grammy and Academy Award winning composer, Alan Menken.

After his freshman year as a music major and jazz performance minor at Princeton University, where he composed for the Princeton Triangle club and composed/orchestrated for numerous jazz ensembles, Jackson spent the summer in Los Angeles working as an assistant to film composers Scott Salinas and Tobias Enhus. He received his first film credit for an HBO film for his additional orchestrations and was commissioned to write a piece for ESPN's music catalog that will air on national television during the winter of 2009/2010. Additionally, Jackson wrote the score for the short film B2247, which has gained entrance into numerous film festivals.

After culminating Spring of 2010 opening for "The Roots" with his band Shape Machine (original music and lyrics by Jackson Greenberg), Jackson is currently back in Los Angeles working again with composers Salinas and Enhus. He has scored original music for "Snapple" and "Nokia" ad campaigns and worked as music editor for Showtime's new TV show "Look" (Fall 2010). In September, Jackson will study film composition at the Royal College of Music (London) and then return to Princeton to finish his Bachelor's in music."
